Meet the Artist

Barbara J. Bosco, Wingtales ArtistBarbara J. Bosco, Artist

I have always been interested in photography -- my closets overflow with albums, files, and boxes of photos. Only recently has it become a serious endeavor.

After several years of working with the "naturally deceased" butterflies in my jewelry, it became imperative for me to see the butterflies ALIVE and fluttering about.

Initially, most of the butterfly photos were strictly for my own viewing pleasure. Then I began using them to create thank you cards for my jewelry customers; later, I progressed to personal cards for friends and family. People began asking if they could purchase them.

I now make my butterfly and flower photographs available as wall art offered in three sizes with either double or triple matting in black or white.

To capture and extend the beauty of the short-lived butterflies with my photos is pure enchantment!

I was recently contacted by The Grail Foundation Press requesting a few of my photos for use on their beautiful cards. I am thrilled! The photo cards may be purchased directly from GFP along with many other nature cards.

This past summer my own tiny herb garden attracted many different species of butterflies and moths. I was able to document a photo journal of a lovely male Monarch as he went from egg to butterfly. Now my camera goes with me at all times. I've progressed from photographing butterflies to flowers to nature in general.

This whole experience has enhanced my capacity to see all the beauty in our world. Of course, working with the butterfly wings in my jewelry collection has also expanded my horizons and my work is truly a joy. Photography is a different expression of this same joy as well as a soothing diversion.

Enjoy...
